Fun

Fun and relaxing activities drain the stress out of one's system because one’s mind becomes occupied with the new activity and certain hormones such as endorphins are released which place the body into a natural state of “ecstasy”.

To help you de-stress do fun things such as:

  • Watch a movie, play games, make dinner or lunch, read a good book, go for a long drive, go into the country or to the beach, etc.
  • Spend time on your hobbies: Painting, writing, singing and playing an instrument.
  • Listen to positive relaxing music. Instrumental or love songs.
  • Try to go for a family picnic at least once a month.

Practical:

Write down three fun things that relax you.
Plan: when you will do them this month.

Affirmations:
I have fun often
I make time to have fun
I enjoy my life

Challenges

It is your dream that will drive you to face and overcome any challenges as you work towards creating a passive income and wealth.

Challenges you will face:

  • Some people are negative
  • You will need to make time to work even when you are tired
  • You may need to get out of your comfort zone
  • Some people are skeptical
  • Income growth may be slow at first

But the dream of enjoying financial freedom and wealth will motivate you to persevere.

It was my dream of enjoying passive income that drove me to work extra hours when I was struggling financially.

Just as my dream motivated me, so yours will give you the energy, when you are tired.

Purpose

If your career is in line with your purpose, let your purpose inspire you whenever you feel unmotivated. See yourself doing what you were born to do. Think about how fulfilling your purpose, benefits people.

Enjoy the feelings of fulfilment as you visualize yourself living out your purpose at work. See yourself making a difference in people's lives. Consider how your work is making a difference and positively impacting your world.

If your job is not related to your purpose, then focus for a few moments on the aspects of your purpose that your job does fulfil such as being a positive influence on others. Perhaps your job indirectly helps you fulfil your purpose because it gives you financial security so that you can pursue your purpose in your spare time.

Customers

If you serve customers and you want them to keep coming back to buy more then the best way to ensure that is by delighting them. Customers that are delighted will want to come back to be delighted again.

How can we create customer delight?

By making your customer feel special from the first contact:

  • Address them by name
  • Be enthusiastic
  • Make a joke
  • Smile big
  • Have fun
  • Be different
  • Change the experience

Spend a few minutes thinking about how you can use your personality to make every customer feel special.

Your customers pay your salary. You want them to keep coming back, Francois!

Affirmations:
I delight my customers
My customers keep coming back
I make each person feel special

Be all you can be.

Rest and relaxation

Through maintaining a balanced rest and relaxation program you can reduce a build-up of stress.
Here are 4 things you can do:

1. Rest for at least one full day per week. Doctors and psychologists advise that one have at least a full days rest every seven days. The opportunity to do no work for at least a whole day every week, allows the body and mind to rest enough to face the next week of work.

2. Get between 5-9 hours of sleep per night. Each person requires a different amount of sleep. How much you need can be determined by starting with 10 hours the first night. If you struggle to fall asleep the next night, after an average day's work, then 10 hours was too much. Reduce to 9.5 hours the next night, and keep reducing the amount of sleep by half an hour every night, until you fall asleep easily at night. During times of greater stress, one may need more sleep than normal.

3. Relax for at least 1 hour every day. Having time at the end of a busy day to relax is crucial. This may be difficult if one has chores at home and children to care for. If possible parents need to take turns with the children to allow the other parent to have time alone, especially on weekends. On weeknights, sometimes chores need to be neglected in order to relax.

4. Get away for a long weekend once every three months. Taking a Friday and Monday off regularly and getting away to the country or the "bush" is extremely healthy. It helps one to forget about the challenges at home or work and gives one time to recreate and recharge.

What can you do to maintain a balanced rest and relaxation program?

Be all you can be.

I always thought “service” was a four-letter word, like “work”. Then I discovered that when I meet the needs of others, I become great in their eyes. When I meet people's needs, they appreciate me, and what I do to solve their problems. That not only strokes my ego, but also gives my life a measure of meaning. Sometimes serving is hard work. That is why few people actually do it with care. It is much easier to be careless and only partially meet people's needs. But those that do a good job with pride and a pleasant attitude, earn the respect of their clients. Respect is worth something, in my books.

Affirmations:
I serve with excellence
I am an asset to my company
I add huge value

Be all you can be.
